The First 3 Things You Need To Do

Verify your Caller ID is set up right

One of the biggest problems people see with Planswell is caller ID. The best way to display your caller ID is like this:

  • Make sure that your Caller ID displays your First and Last name only
  • Avoid using business numbers, leaving blanks, or using nicknames

Review the Script

A navigator would never go to sea without a map, and you should never make a call without a good script (i.e. the one we give you). We've tested it; it works. Practice your call script to ensure you’re able to execute it with a naturally curious and assertive tone.

Cold-Call Role Play

Cold-call an MPS manager after you've understood the script and before you start dialling to develop more impactful techniques. Receive a bonus household when you successfully cold-call your MPS.

5 things you need to do on every call

Always Double Dial!

Many people leave the call screening features built into their phones turned on at all times. What this screening tech does is stop the phone from ringing whenever they receive a call from an unknown number.

By double-dialing (allowing the first call to ring through to voicemail and then calling again immediately), you will bypass the screening technology on the second call attempt, and their phone will ring. It's a proven strategy that many successful professionals use to achieve a higher response rate.

Call with the right cadence

Make 2–3 calls to each household per week until you’re able to have a conversation. Keep this cadence for 3–4 weeks and remember to adjust the time at which you call to catch them at a more opportune time.

Don't leave voicemails

While this might seem counterintuitive, we don’t recommend leaving voicemails, texts, or follow-up emails when you don’t get someone on the phone. We have tested this idea with 100s of advisors and every time it comes back worse.

The best way to get people on the phone is to keep with the same cadence.

Build Rapid Rapport

Express genuine interest in the lives of the households you call, be empathetic towards their needs and pain points, and be overall genuine and authentic in your conversation.

Respond to Objections

Understand the difference between an objection and rejection and how to deal with objections.
